3 Lipsticks I Love Right Now

DSCF2142I am so into lipsticks at the minute. It took me a while to get used to the whole re applying and not looking like your trying to impress someone thing but now I’m back in the game. I’ve always loved lipsticks but I’ve generally only worn them on a night out.

I thought I would go through my 3 favourite lipsticks of the moment and what could be fairer than seeing exactly what’s in my handbag?!

Now, there was actually 7 in my bag but I have picked my favourite 3 which I wear the most.

First up is a kind of old L’Oreal number. I’m not sure if it’s still available anymore but the Glam Matte range was just the best. It’s marketed as a Matte Gloss which is a bit of a contradiction and it’s not really either one but the formula is creamy without being too thick. The colour Fushia Flare is a very vibrant, almost neon, colour which sounds terrible written down but it’s beautiful!

Second on my list of current faves is the Rimmel Lasting Finish colour rush balm in I want candy. (I just looked at the website for the name as it’s rubbed off from too much love and the swatch for this shade is not accurate at all). This is a really bright glossy pink (can you sense a theme here?) with a kind of blue undertone so it’s a little cooler in tone but not so much that it makes your teeth yellow. I got this on a whim without hearing anything about it or swatching it in too much detail and I have fallen in love with the formula so much that I have done a full post on them here. Even though it has a shine it’s subtle, not overly glossy, and has such strong staying power it’s unreal. Plus it smells like white chocolate…beautiful!

I have saved the best till last because the staying power on this one wins hands down. It’s the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick in shade 12 Beau Brown’. I have heard a lot of hype about these bad boys and, I have to say, it’s justified. The texture is not at all cloggy, it’s really lightweight and it dries really Matte but it doesn’t dry the lips; it feels very soft actually. It stays on until way after my lunch which is a massive winner for me. The one thing I don’t like is the artificial smell but you don’t notice that once it’s on – I’m definitely going back for more colours!

Have you got any favourites of the moment in your handbag?
