The Christmas Party Make-up

Christmas Make-upIt’s the beginning of December which means it’s officially time to get into the Christmas spirit (and play Christmas songs 24/7).I have a couple of Christmas parties this year so I thought I would get all festive and try a golden, kinda sparkly eye with a killer red lip.

The star of the show is definitely The Gold Standard Sleek Eyeshadow Palette, it’s just such great quality and has everything you need for party-ready eyes. It’s made up of 4 regular shadows and 2 cream ones – which to be honest tend to be a bit creasy but they are mega shiny. I went for the golden shade called ‘Vera’ with a little bit of the orange ‘Coco’ shade in the crease and a touch of the lightest ‘Vivienne’ in the corners. To crank up the party vibes I added a little bit of a two-toned Topshop Chameleon Glow eyeshadow in shade ‘Shuffle The Cards’ in the centre of the lid. This eyeshadow is so unusual, it’s probably a bit too full on for every day but, for a party look it’s spot on. I would definitely recommend getting a swatch of this in your nearest Topshop but, be warned, it will mesmerise you with it’s pretty, gittery, shiny goodness!

I finished the eyes with a good old cat eye flick and I find the best eyeliner for precision and staying power is the Kiko Ultimate Pen Longwear Eyeliner (mine is on its last legs so I desperately need another before party time). Obviously, you need plenty of mascara and then it’s on to the lips.

I wanted a more orange toned red instead of a darker Christmassy one so I went for the Maybeline Colour Sensational Matte Lipstick in ‘Craving Coral’. These are sooo creamy and they just sit on the lips beautifully without going all cracky and dry.

So what do you think to the final look? All I need now is a new outfit to go with my festive face!

I love their pallets at the moment! I have a full post about them soon 🙂

Yup. They are pigmented, cruelty-free and affordable. I wish they had more of a color choice though- I mean I buy the full pallete, but 3-4 of those colors I’ll probably never use.
