My first favourite is the Estee Lauder Day Wear Tinted Moisturiser. I have been a lover of this for some time now, ever since my mum bought it me as a Christmas treat, and I really rate it for those days when you don’t need much makeup. The formula is almost white in colour and has little tiny pigment particles in it that adapt to your skin tone as you smooth it on. I find it’s a middle ground between a tinted moisturiser and a BB cream and it gives my skin a real natural looking glow and a little bit of colour when I’m looking a bit grey (you know the days). The smell is so fresh and the added SPF 15 means this is always packed into my holiday beauty bag for ‘no makeup’ lazy pool days.
Another base that makes the cut this month is the L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation. I have the shade Rose Beige and it’s the perfect colour for me. I was a little sceptical at first but the long wear claim really drew me in, and I’m so glad it did. The finish of this is matte but not in a dry, powdery way. It still has some radiance to it and blends in like a dream! I have been using this with my Real Techniques Beauty Sponge nearly every day and it’s a winning combo. The coverage I would say is medium but you could totally go in for round 2 if you wanted to build it up to a full coverage base.
For a natural, radiant glow I have been really getting into the Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette. This is ideal if you want a subtle glow or an illuminating powder to set your foundation. It’s not a highlighter as such but I just swipe one of the powders (or all 3 if I’m feeling crazy) all over may face for a healthy ‘lit from within’ look. I’ve done a full review on this but for less than a tenner I would recommend marching down to Superdrug for a cheeky swatch.
Speaking of glow I have recently bought the MaxFactor Crème Puff Blush in ‘Seductive pink’ for a pop of colour on the cheeks. I have never bought anything from MaxFactor before now (I know, shock horror) but the texture and colour pay off of this blusher is great. It’s an almost mauve and peach marbled powder and I have been reaching for this when I’ve wanted a bolder colour with a little more depth on my cheeks. It’s not shimmery at all so no glitter ball cheeks for me!
The last on my list (and no surprise if you follow my Instagram) is a Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Liquid Lipstick. My favourite has to be ‘Pink Pong’ which is a vibrant, purple toned, hot pink. I love wearing this if I have minimal eye makeup on or if I want to take a simple outfit from day to night. A pop of colour always does the trick if you’re feeling a bit down and the staying power of this beauty is just the best!
So that’s my pick of the bunch for February. Have you had any makeup favourites that you are in love with right now?
