My favourite eyeshadow palette, and it has been for some time now, is the Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette. What I particularly like is that it’s good solid all-rounder. It has neutrals, shimmers, mattes and some unusual warm toned colours too (the red-y pink on the top row is a current fave). The eyeshadows are so pigmented, the colours look amazing when they’re on and to top it all off the packaging is nice and slim – perfect for taking on your travels.
Because I get a tonne of wear out of it, I thought I would put together my 3 most worn looks using just this palette alone. And FYI, they are pretty easy to do too!
The first is my go-to easy day time look for when I’m in a hurry. I first neutralise the eye lid with the lightest matte colour (top left) and then layer the lightest shimmery one (2nd along the top) over the top. To add some depth I used the golden colour (bottom left) in the middle then with a few coats of mascara, I’m out the door!
If I’m in the mood something matte on the eyes (usually if I have a glossy lip in mind) then I love to use the mustard yellow (2nd on the bottom) all over the lid with some of the burnt orange (middle bottom) in the crease and under the eye. You can go to town on these colours to give a grungy, smokey vibe and if you really want to go all out add a feline flick for added drama. I think these eyeshadows are so unusual and I’ve never seen them in a palette of this quality and price before.
The last (and probably my favourite) look I want to show you is using the beautiful warm pink toned colour (middle top). This is so metallic but not glittery at all and it blends like a dream. Being the owner of green eyes this colour makes them pop and I think it would look just as beautiful on every eye colour. I have used some of the black matte colour (top right) along the top lash line and have winged it out slightly to add a bit of definition to the eye. The only thing I would say is when you are using red or pink eye shadow is go hard or go home. Just a hint of pink can make your eyes look sore – not what you need after a bad nights sleep!
So that’s your lot. There’s so much more I could have done with this palette but which is your favourite look out of the 3?
I have been so impressed with the Zoeva brand that I already have my next palette on order (eeek!) and I’m hoping I love it just as much as this one. Watch this space!
