A Mini Kiko Makeup Haul

Kiko Makeup

mini makeup binge is always on the cards so when I went to Kiko recently to buy my bestie a present, I couldn’t help but accidentally (on purpose) buy myself a few bits too.

I think kiko is such an underrated brand. Their shops are a magical sea of colourful, makeup goodness and every time I step foot in there I end up with a swatch explosion all over my hands! Here’s what I picked up in my mini haul.

An eyeliner replacement.

I’m a huge fan of their liquid eyeliner in felt tip form. I’ve never found another than lasts all day and is also idiot proof to apply. It glides on so easily to create a perfected flick with minimal effort. The original was a black plastic one which I was told was discontinued and replaced with the Out of Bounds Eyeliner Pen in fancy gold packaging. It’s a little more expensive now BUT it’s totally worth it if you want a speedy flick in the morning. The packaging is much more heavy duty too and makes it even easier to work with.

Another nail varnish.

I didn’t need this in the slightest but I wanted it.  My nail varnish collection is beyond ridiculous but there’s always room for one more right? I bought this Frozen Smoothie Nail Lacquer in the shade ‘Soft Candyfloss’ which has very subtle grey flecks within it and is very rich looking – you know what I’m saying? Kiko nail varnishes apply beautifully and the brush is thick enough to cover most of the nail in one fail swoop. It’s pretty opaque too so after a couple of coats you’re good to go, no streaky nails in sight!

The impulse purchase.

As I mentioned in my budget highlighters post, anything in the glow-giving family is having such a moment. The more glow the better in my eyes and I love all the different formulas too; powder, cream, liquid – I’m up for them all. I pretty much have everything on the spectrum from a full-on disco ball glow, to highlighters that give a subtle illumination. This Radient Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter in ‘100 Gold’ sits somewhere in the middle. It’s quick to apply, one swipe, a bit of patting in and you’re done. I swatched this on my hand and it went straight in my basket! Gorgeous glow, here I come!

the best highlighter

Last but certainly not least.

After swatching every lipstick in the shop I settled on a Velvet Passion Matte Lipstick in the shade ‘312 Cherry’. It’s a pinky-red, suitable for day or night and has a lightweight velvet feel, it’s creamy but not slippery so it has a decent amount of staying power. Did I mention the packaging? It’s so dreamy, the Matte effect metal and magnetic closing just makes me feel extra special every time I whip it out of my handbag.

Kiko seem to be placing themselves as a little more luxury than they used to. They’ve ramped up the luxe factor on all of their packaging and reformulated their lipstick range. They’ve done some beautiful limited edition launches lately too so it’s always worth popping by for a snoop around.

Have you tried anything from kiko that you’re obsessed with?
