I’ve only got into foundation in the last year or so because I think it always scared me in the past. I was probably scarred by the numerous foundation disasters I’ve seen; orange faces, mismatched face and neck and a cakey finish which just looked awful.
After a boozy lunch with my friend I popped into Boots, braved it and picked up my first foundation (the L’Oreal True Match) and I have been hooked ever since. I like a base with a medium coverage, doesn’t look to heavy and cakey and evens my skin tone to perfection.
Because of my love for my first L’Oreal Foundation purchase I decided to pick up the L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation. I have combination skin so when I have more oily days I like to crack this out to mattify everything a little. Let me talk you through my thoughts…
The texture of this is lovely. It’s light, has a medium coverage and blends beautifully. The shade range is pretty good and the finish is not as flat as you would initially think looking at the name. It’s quite radiant actually without being shiny or greasy looking so if you have skin on the oily side it should be a winner for you. It lasts most of the day with minimal touching up and doesn’t seem to oxidise and change colour as time goes on. The tube packaging is compact and neat so you can carry it around easily too.
There’s not much bad to say about this foundation. The only thing I would bear in mind is that it can cling to any dry patches. I tend to slap on a nice helping of moisturiser before using this foundation and that seems to do the trick for me.
Overall, a thumbs up from me!
Now I’m into my bases I am open to any suggestions for a glowy finish in time for spring, any recommendations?
